IEP Goal

What is an IEP Goal?

IEP goals or objectives represent a part of a required fluency or list of skills that describe what a student should accomplish during the school year (IEP cycle). Each objective in the IEP goal progression moves the learner through previously unmastered skills and skill gaps that may span multiple grade levels or be more condensed to a specific grade or developmental range.

Target IEP Goal

By (date), when given problems with the number system, the student will solve real-world and mathematical problems by graphing points in all four quadrants of the coordinate plane. Include the use of coordinates and absolute value to find distances between points with the same first coordinate or the same second coordinate. improving number system skills from 0/10 work samples out of ten consecutive trials to 8/10 work samples in ten consecutive trials.

IEP Goal Objectives

1

Follow directions on a coordinate plane

By (date), when given problems with coordinate plane, the student will follow directions on a coordinate plane, improving the number system skills from 0/10 problems out of ten consecutive trials to 8/10 problems in ten consecutive trials.

2

Distance between two points

By (date), when given problems with coordinate plane, the student will distance between two points, improving the number system skills from 0/10 problems out of ten consecutive trials to 8/10 problems in ten consecutive trials.

3

Coordinate planes as maps

By (date), when given problems with coordinate plane, the student will coordinate planes as maps, improving the number system skills from 0/10 problems out of ten consecutive trials to 8/10 problems in ten consecutive trials.

4

Graph points on a coordinate plane

By (date), when given problems with coordinate plane, the student will graph points on a coordinate plane, improving the number system skills from 0/10 problems out of ten consecutive trials to 8/10 problems in ten consecutive trials.
