Count Forward To 20 Beginning From A Given Number | IEP Goal
When it comes to learning to count, many students find it helpful to begin with a known sequence. This IEP goal is designed to help students navigate the many challenges when given problems with number counting. The student will count forward to 20 beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1), improving counting and cardinality skills. This goal will help the student to understand the concept of numbers and how they are related to one another. In addition, it will also help the student to develop fine motor skills and improve their hand-eye coordination.

Learning Standard
K.CC.A.2
Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
By (date), when given problems with number counting, the student will count forward to 20 beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1), improving counting and cardinality skills from 0/10 work samples out of ten consecutive trials to 8/10 work samples in ten consecutive trials.

IEP Goal Objectives
1
Counting: Counting up
By (date), when given a number, the student will determine and state what number comes next, improving counting and cardinality skills from 0/10 problems out of ten consecutive trials to 8/10 problems in ten consecutive trials
2
Counting: Counting forward three spaces up to 10
By (date), when given a number, the student will count forward from that number up to 10, improving counting and cardinality skills from 0/10 problems out of ten consecutive trials to 8/10 problems in ten consecutive trials.
3
Counting up to 20: What number comes next
By (date), when given a number, the student will determine and state what number comes next, improving counting and cardinality skills from 0/10 problems out of ten consecutive trials to 8/10 problems in ten consecutive trials.
4
Counting up to 20: Counting forward
By (date), when given a number, the student will count forward from that number up to 20, improving counting and cardinality skills from 0/10 problems out of ten consecutive trials to 8/10 problems in ten consecutive trials.
