LESSON INSTRUCTION
INTRODUCTION
- Greet students and explain the objective of the lesson.
- Ask students if they know what uppercase letters are and how they are different from lowercase letters.
- Hold up a flashcard with an uppercase letter and a word that starts with that letter.
- Ask students to identify the letter and the word.
- Repeat with a few more flashcards, encouraging students to participate and asking them questions as needed.
- Explain to students that they will be learning how to identify uppercase letters in text.
INSTRUCTION
- Write a simple sentence with an uppercase letter on the whiteboard (e.g. "The Cat is Big").
- Read the sentence aloud to the class and point to the uppercase letter.
- Ask students to repeat the sentence and identify the uppercase letter.
- Repeat with a few more sentences, encouraging students to participate and asking them questions as needed.
- Hold up a flashcard with an uppercase letter on one side and a word on the other side.
- Read the word aloud and ask students to identify the uppercase letter.
- Repeat with a few more flashcards, encouraging students to participate and asking them questions as needed.
