LESSON INSTRUCTION

INTRODUCTION

  1. Begin by reviewing the concept of uppercase and lowercase letters. Use the key idea above to explain the difference between the two types of letters.
  2. Display flashcards with mixed uppercase and lowercase letters and ask students to identify which letters are uppercase and which are lowercase.
  3. Explain that today, students will practice finding a specific number of uppercase letters from a group of letters.

INSTRUCTION

  1. Display a group of 5 letters on the whiteboard, including three uppercase letters and two lowercase letters.
  2. Ask students to find and circle the three uppercase letters in the group.
  3. Model the process of finding and circling the letters as a class, and provide an example solution, such as the solution in the example given.
  4. Repeat with a few more groups of letters, gradually increasing the difficulty by adding more letters to the group.
  5. Provide letter cards for guided practice, and ask students to work in pairs to find and circle the specified number of uppercase letters.
  6. Walk around the classroom to monitor progress and provide guidance as needed.

GUIDED PRACTICE

  1. Distribute worksheets with groups of letters to each student.
  2. Ask students to find and circle the specified number of uppercase letters in each group.
  3. Provide letter cards as a visual aid to help students who may be struggling.
