LESSON INSTRUCTION
INTRODUCTION
- Begin by reviewing the concept of uppercase and lowercase letters. Use the key idea above to explain the difference between the two types of letters.
- Display flashcards with mixed uppercase and lowercase letters and ask students to identify which letters are uppercase and which are lowercase.
- Explain that today, students will practice finding a specific number of uppercase letters from a group of letters.
INSTRUCTION
- Display a group of 5 letters on the whiteboard, including three uppercase letters and two lowercase letters.
- Ask students to find and circle the three uppercase letters in the group.
- Model the process of finding and circling the letters as a class, and provide an example solution, such as the solution in the example given.
- Repeat with a few more groups of letters, gradually increasing the difficulty by adding more letters to the group.
- Provide letter cards for guided practice, and ask students to work in pairs to find and circle the specified number of uppercase letters.
- Walk around the classroom to monitor progress and provide guidance as needed.
GUIDED PRACTICE
- Distribute worksheets with groups of letters to each student.
- Ask students to find and circle the specified number of uppercase letters in each group.
