              EXTENSION

As an extension activity, consider using the Rhyme Time game as a fun and interactive way for students to reinforce their ability to identify and produce rhyming words. Students can play the game in pairs or small groups, using the Rhyme Time game board and rhyming words list from the lesson plan. Encourage students to think of multiple rhyming words for each card to make the game more challenging. This game is also a great way to practice critical thinking and sentence construction skills. Additionally, you can use the game to differentiate instruction by modifying the level of difficulty for students who may need additional support or a greater challenge.

              • Students can create their own rhyming word cards to add to the set.
              • Students can practice creating longer sentences with multiple rhyming words.
              • For students who are more advanced, they can be challenged to create their own rhyming poems or stories.

              INTERVENTION

              • For students who struggle with reading or recognizing words, pictures can be used on the cards to help them identify the rhyming words.
              • For students who need extra support, sentence starters or prompts can be provided to help them create sentences with rhyming words.

              • Provide examples of words that do and do not rhyme to help students understand the difference and the importance of the pattern.

              STUDENT MISCONCEPTIONS

              • Students may struggle to identify and recognize rhyming words, especially if the words have different spellings or pronunciations.
              • Some students may think that any two words that sound alike are rhyming words, even if they don't follow a specific pattern.
